Which class is for me?

 
 

People learn CPR for various reasons: new career, new safety standards, renewal, foster care, etc.

The following classes are offered for first time students and those looking for a refresher/renewal course.

Healthcare Provider/AED CPR: (BLS) This is the course required for nurses, MD's, dentists, medical office staff, nursing students, therapists and trainers (etc). There is a written test, also hands on skills check off.  Instruction for AED is also provided in this course. Certification cards will say BLS are valid for two years. Do not invest in online training until you can clarify with employer whether you need hands on training. This course provides hands on skills required for MOST medical companies.

Heartsaver/AED CPR: This course is designed for non-healthcare professionals.  Course is for individuals or industries requesting or requiring basic CPR with valid certification cards. There is no written test with this course. Only hands on skills testing. Instruction for AED is also provided in this course. Certification Cards are valid for two years. This course can incorporate First Aid training. 

Basic First Aid:  This course discusses various basic first aid topics. Instruction is focused on the immediate care that a victim will need before help arrives. Help can be from first responders or an individual with advanced training or paramedics. First Aid training can be included with most CPR classes. 

NEW:    Heartsaver for K-12 SCHOOLS: This course completion card is exclusively for K-12 students, faculty, and staff who pass the Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course, the Heartsaver CPR AED course, or the Heartsaver First Aid course when taught in the school system. 

Family and Friends CPR: This course teaches most basic CPR. This training does not include a certification card. This class provides instruction to smaller groups interested in skills only.  There is no certification card or test. Only skill check is provided. Instruction for AED can be provided.

HANDS ONLY CPR: This instruction is used primarily for large audiences. Schools, churches or individuals seeking to learn the very basics of CPR in large groups or events. There is no certification card for this training. Informative instruction for the most basic training available. 

Additional training is available including: Safety related to accident prevention, Blood Borne Pathogens and more.
